The steel tapers from wide to narrow as it descends grazing the base, then ascends twirling about. As with artists painterly in nature, Sorge achieves a blackened patina by carefully layering multiple color tones; the result is a complex ebony that subtly shines in the light. Colors captured contain gold, amethyst, green and hints of silver. Hand brushing further accentuates the depth of color.
